We generally recommend lugged frames to start with as the results are better for non experienced people. You can always come back for a second advanced course making filet brazed frames.
If you really want to make a filet brazed frame first please enquire before hand so that we can discuss the possibility.
Some people may take longer on some aspects of the course and some are a bit quicker, depending on any previous experience they may have had in engineering.
Should you and a friend want to come together that’s ok as well, we can usually accommodate this.
You are advised to bring old clothes to work in, overalls are always available should you require them.
Please wear sturdy shoes, NOT open toed or flimsy shoes.
We supply water, tea, coffee and biscuit’s through out the day, food is not included but the workshop is located next to several cafes and cake shops that are easily available for lunch breaks.
Days start at 9.00am and finish around 5pm, with a break during the day for lunch.
We can supply the names of Bed and breakfast accommodation in Eastbourne if required although hotels etc are in plentiful supply.
It would be very useful if you could bring along a cycle of your own so Geoff can look at you on it to gauge your frame sizing, plus if the weathers good you might like to cycle around Eastbourne and experience the area.
Eastbourne Rovers have several rides out a week in the summer months and welcome anyone to join in, plus time trials on some Thursday evening’s.
You might even manage to get Geoff and his wife out as well!
